Former Bournemouth and Rangers midfielder arrives at SN1

Swindon Town are delighted to announce the signing of former AFC Bournemouth and Rangers midfielder Nnamdi Ofoborh on a permanent deal, subject to EFL approval.

The 24-year-old began his career with AFC Bournemouth and enjoyed a fruitful two-year spell with the club’s U18s, including captaining them in his second year and also being named the Cherries' Young Player of the Season in 2017–18.

Ofoborh followed this up with a successful loan spell with League One side Wycombe Wanderers in 2019-20 and played his part in the club's promotion from the third tier into the Championship, whilst also scoring a goal of the season winner against Fleetwood in their semi-final first leg during that time.

After earning international recognition, with Nigeria U20s where he was part of the Under-20 World Cup finals in Poland in 2019, making three appearances in the tournament.

Having made appearances against Qatar U20s and Ukraine U20s, the Flying Eagles later advanced to the knockout stage against Senegal, which saw Ofoborh start the round of 16 clash before falling to an unfortunate 2-1 defeat.

Following this, the midfielder then spent two years with Scottish giants Rangers, before departing the club at the start of this season and has since been training with Swindon for the last few weeks to build his match fitness back up.

Ofoborh will look to be involved in today's home league game against Notts County as Town look to get back to winning ways against the Magpies this afternoon.
