With the Jed McCrory consortium now in full control at The County Ground and with Board member Steve Murrall having assumed executive responsibility as the STFC General Manager, it has been mutually agreed that Nick Watkins will bring to end his tenure as the club’s Chief Executive with immediate effect.
Watkins will however be available to the Club throughout March to assist, as required, with the final aspects of the transition.
Commenting on his decision to resign his position as Chief Executive, Watkins stated:
“I am relieved and delighted that the Club has been able to secure new owners and I wish Jed McCrory and his team every ounce of success going forward.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed each single minute of my five years with the club and I shall remember my time here with great affection. I have been privileged to work with a great team of people, and I am proud that I can hand to the new owners, a Club that is in peak condition.
“To the STFC staff, sponsors, suppliers, and the fans, I would like to express my genuine and very sincere gratitude for your friendship and support. COYR.”
STFC General Manager, Steve Murrall, added: “First of all on behalf of Jed and his team, I would like to thank Nick for his considerable efforts during his time with the Club.
“As new owners we have inherited a great team on and off the pitch and that’s testament to Nick’s good work. We now look forward to building on those great foundations and taking the Club forward towards the Championship.”
