Ince - We Need To Be Confident Going Into Every Game

17 March 2017

Rohan Ince says Town need to go into every game believing that they can come away with all three points.

The Reds face a tricky trip to Bradford City on Saturday (3pm Kick-Off) with a win a must as they bid to retain their Sky Bet League One status.

And Ince sees no reason why his side can’t claim the spoils tomorrow against The Bantams, who are currently chasing promotion to the Championship.

“It was a very disappointing game on Tuesday and we did well to get back into it,” he said.

“To get two goals back and then to concede a third through a mistake was disappointing, but everybody makes mistakes so we’ve got to keep going and we’re raring to go for Saturday.

“Every game is the same for me and you’ve got to go into every game with the same mentality that you can win.

“There is a chance that you can win no matter who you play against and everybody wants to win and play well in every game.

“That is our mind-set going into every game.

“Everyone enjoys playing well but it is not about individuals, it is about the team at the end of the day and if the team is not playing well then I’m not happy, but if the team is playing well then I’m happy.

“Every game should give us a boost because we’ve got a goal and the goal is to avoid relegation.

“No matter where we go, if we’re playing home or away or if we’re playing Sheffield United or Bradford City, we’ve got the same mentality going into the game.

“We need to do as well as we can and get as many points as we can.”

Ince has impressed hugely in a holding midfield role and he went on to explain what is expected of him in that position.

“Luke Williams likes to call it ‘The Destroyer’ and I’ve basically got to stop anyone bombarding the two centre-backs,” he continued.

“I’m in and around them, I have to get on any knockdowns quickly, make tackles in there and I have to be aggressive.

“It is a role that I haven’t done in a long time. I did it when I first broke into the team at Brighton and I did it successfully, so it is a role I’m comfortable doing and I’m pleased Luke asked me to do it.

“This has been my most enjoyable loan.”

Finally, Rohan dished out plenty of praise to Charlie Colkett with the pair having formed a formidable partnership in the middle of the park in recent weeks.

“Charlie is a flair player and he likes to get on the ball and do nice things on the ball, but he may not be able to do the other side of the game as successfully as the flair side,” Ince added.

“I’m happy to complement his play, he complements my play and we’ve got a good relationship going.”
